ACTUAL MARCH TORNADIC EVENTS CORRELATE WELL WITH

STATISTICS GENERATED BY VORTEK

 

During the first 14 days in March, actual tornadic events in the U.S. have demonstrated good agreement with recent lists produced by VorTek using the Site Assessment of Tornado Threat (SATT) software for the Twenty Most Tornado-Prone States http://vortek.home.mindspring.com/marstates02.htm and Twenty Most Tornado-Prone Cities http://vortek.home.mindspring.com/marcities02.htm during March.

With regard to states, on March 10 Arkansas was struck by a tornado while on March 12 Illinois, Missouri, and Oklahoma were hit. Most recently on March 13 Kansas was the target. According to the SATT Top 20 list for March, Arkansas ranked #1, while Kansas ranked #8, Illinois #11, Oklahoma #12, and Missouri #15.

With regard to cities, Springfield, Illinois, experienced significant tornado damage on March 12. According to SATT, Springfield ranked #18 among tornado-prone cities for March.
