Huntsville, Alabama        November 5, 1999

As part of his annual report dated November 1 to Huntsville’s Mayor, Loretta Spencer, dealing with tornado risk assessment, Dr. Frank B. Tatom, Manager of VorTek LLC pointed out that Huntsville was again ranked #1 among tornado-prone cities.  Of special significance was the fact that tornadoes were most likely to occur between 5:00 and 6:00 P.M. CDT and between 10:00 P.M. and 12:00 Midnight CDT.  The report also identified April as the most likely month for tornadoes during the primary season and November the most likely month during the secondary season.
